Just realised, NB has very little experience of Michelin tyres. Makes his first outing even more remarkable. Andy
“Bulega into the 39s, a 1:39.484 is now faster by about 0.3s than his best race lap from the WSBK weekend in March.”
Feeling sorry for Fabio. The Yamaha is not only short of top end, but looks out of shape on this track.
That’s the first time I can recall this season where Peccos had a shit first session and not gone backwards for the rest of the weekend Bulega ends the day within a second of 73 Marini with his first off of the season?!
Btw, when I said I feel sorry for Fabio, got to keep things in perspective. Recieving a bloody huge pay check to ride the least competitive bike on the grid. His choice. I do wonder if he will regret it in years to come. Already more money than most folks make in a lifetime. Will that be enough when he is older though?… I hope he jumps ship soon..
Shame Topraks management got him the worst ride on the grid too. I know he has history with Yamaha but give him a chance ffs.
I can only guess what Toprak is thinking while watching this. There must be a huge difference in class between Wsbk and MGP. NB has the world champions bike and he's 17th so far. I've got the crapest bike on the grid. What have I done.
Pointless fp2 session in moto 3 but we nearly had three British and Irish riders in the top ten at one point!!
Going to be a strange year next year for everyone id imagine what with only a year left of the current machines before the switch to 850’s (and Pirelli’s) and 75% of the grid being out of contract at the end of ‘26 Can’t see KTM investing in R&D on a bike that’s going to be binned in 12 months either. Imagine TR’s main aim is to learn the tracks and team. Everyone’s starting from scratch in 12 months time so next year will make next to no difference.
