Bike Comfort

  1. I test rode a more off-rode bike today, and decided not to wear my usual leather trousers and jacket (thought it would look a bit bizarre). I dug out a pair of old textile rst trousers and a textile touring jacket. I rode the 999 about 40 minutes each way to the dealer....and noticed straight away that it was much more comfortable than when wearing leathers! I've been suffering a bit when riding recently as it has been a lot less regular than in previous years. It's got me really thinking about riding kit. I liked the fact that my arse would slip easier on the seat, I found it easier to distribute the weight quickly.

    Thoughts?

  2. Its when you fall off that the leather literally saves your arse...

  3. I find I ride with less vigour if I have bike jeans on rather than leather, but do wear a Dainese laminate textile when it's wet or cold, but still leather trousers. But always wear a level 2 back/ chest protector vest under leather or the textile, I do find that far more comfy than a back protector in the jacket, it also protects more

  4. On my 999 with termi I can’t wear anything but leather trousers. Last time I wore armoured jeans I ended up with a red baboons arse from the heat. Ok if constant 60mph plus but get stuck in town, ouch

  5. Thoughts? It may just be that the leather pants no longer fit? But some makes/styles are better than others. I find the Lindstrands leathers really comfy, and they zip to my Rukka jacket as a bonus.
I dont like the idea of textile trousers, as I dont hang about on the bike, though in fairness an off would most likely be a tight corner. So therefore at a lower speed.
In the real world, my mate has had loads of offs, he would normally wear Lindstrands zip together textiles. They have always saved his skin, in fact the paramedic was shocked at how hard they were to cut off (dont ask.l).

  6. They had a bit of a job cutting off my kevlar jeans few months back and they did the job.....along with the air jacket :upyeah:
