David Emmett is reporting that “Jorge Martin is travelling to Valencia with the intention of racing in the final round”. Will need to be passed fit by the medics first etc.. etc.. Not sure what he’s hoping to gain there.
Seat time. Needs to get back up to speed prior to the testing of 2026 bikes on Tuesday. Otherwise he will be riding a Bez-bike next year.
I’d imagine it’s pretty much a Bez bike anyway by now? And I get the seat time thing although he can’t be short of tracks to ride fast motorbikes on in Spain. Just seems a bit pointless returning when he’s obv not 100% and risks another injury ahead of testing. Not like he’s up to speed to go racing is it.
Not only are factory riders restricted in official testing, they are also heavily restricted in what bikes they can ride on any track. MM and PB clearly used the Ducati Panigale V2 (hence the new V2 limited MM and PB V2’s) but I don’t know if Aprilia do a road legal equivalent. Andy
I see Jorge has a double long lap for causing the crash that put him out for the rest of the season. If it doesn’t rain it pours etc… No penalty carried over if he decides he’s not fit enough to race hmm.
The mini gp series on the go kart track was great today. Good to see the MGP riders trackside too. Polish and Chinese kids winning *world championships
No detail on MotoGP but Race.com claims if the double long lap penalty is not served, it would hang over him for next season. If true, it would be one rule for MM whose penalty didn't carry over when he missed a race and another rule for everyone else. Andy
Moreira going through q1 tomorrow, Gonzalez doesn’t look like a Sunday race winner after today’s showing though.
Absolute dog shit qualifying sessions from the brits today. Love to know if Ogden’s ever going to stop shooting himself in the foot.
I enjoyed today on the whole. O'Gorman having a right old ding dong with Uriarte in moto 3. Jake ending strongly in 7th and Moreira winning the title for Brazil - "the biggest deficit in moto 2 history clawed back - 61 points after Le Mans". And bez making the end of the season slightly more interesting than the rest of it. How did the yorkshire pudding and hodgy miss Zarco cannonballing Pecco off the track? Incredible stuff even by their standards, Valencia is properly shit though isn't it, worst track of the whole calendar and they end the season there *sigh*. Needs binning off or moving elsewhere in the year imo.
I guess they can only commentate on the pictures that the TV broadcaster shows them up in their commentary box.
They get the same footage we do (they’ve mentioned it a few times in the past) I can understand one of them looking away at lap times or whatever but both of them halfway through the opening lap?
They acknowledged it by the way that’s not what I’m saying it was just like “oh pecco he just wants the season to end” and not why Zarco came out of fucking nowhere on the sharp right hander and rode through the side of him. Literally going four times faster than anyone on track round the twisty part. It was mental. Lucky he didn’t get injured for the test although he probably doesn’t feel like it right now
Well played in the end https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1...prilia-decision-end-his-valencia-motogp-early
