multistrada pikes peak 2025 fitting evotech engine and radiator guards. the middle guard fits to a bracket where you remove a couple of the exhaust nuts and slide the bracket over and then refit the nuts. instructions say tighten to 10nm. unfortunately i had knocked my torque wrench into 12 nm and when i tightened one of them it snapped off. question is will this be ok to run with just 2 uts on one of the down pipes or is it an easy fix or is it a mega cost dealer hob?
If it snapped flush to the head - tricky. If there's some stud protruding - less tricky. Sounds like a poor design to pick up on exhaust studs.
I might have done the same when I had my 1260 when trying to undo them, it ran fine on 2. The studs are a bit shit.
I doubt that Ducati ever designed the exhaust studs to act as an attachment point for a bracket to hold a radiator guard.
A bit late now, but for anyone else reading. I bought the DBKSpecialParts rad guard. One piece, covers all 3 rads, a variety of colours, attached via the bolts for the fog lights on either side and literally take just 10 mins to fit.
am i right in thinking if there’s some of the nut protruding and i can get it , that it will unscrew? and also i can get a replacement from ducati ?
Yes. If some of the stud protruding then get a pair of mole grips on it and wind it out. If you can’t then I’d take it to an independent motorcycle shop who will be a lot cheaper than Ducati to sort it
Had evotec on my last multi . Good quality: a bit fiddly to fit. Wasn't going to bother with to fit a guard on the new multi: but AliEpress are selling a Evotec copy for £26. I will post once fitted how good or bad it is
