Heated Gloves - Recommendations

  1. I have a set of the Keis heated gloves which uses a rechargeable battery on the back of the glove.Three heat settings which supply heat to the back of hand and fingers. They work very well and are very well made.
My wife suffers from very cold fingers and finds them ideal.

I used these for about 5 years. It’s my second pair as I broke a wire on the previous ones (entirely my fault), but the update was a big improvement as the old version used their own proprietary charger but the upgrade has a USB C charging port on the battery. I suffer very badly from cold hands and I really rate them. I can’t remember them ever leaking. I can’t speak for their abrasion resistance as I’ve never crashed in them (on the road, at least).

  3. Fiddly, wirey snappy, failing battery… would do my nut in. Not to mention being bastard freezing and perma wet/cold surfaces.

Winter riding? You’re all mental! I hated it as an apprentice, a loooong time ago…

  4. An interesting thread.

Firstly are you distinguishing between naked and faired bikes? In my day I rode both and never ever suffered with cold hands except in the extreme of winter on a long journey and that was before the introduction or goretex.
With a faired bike there are no issues with a decent pair of overmitts on top of the armoured gloves. On a naked bike, with modern materials like Gortex etc it should be possible to deflect the cold.
Simply by accident and because I have not purchased loads of expensive clothing I happened to find that if I wear my ski jacket and gloves over my armoured jacket, I cannot imagine how cold it would have to be before I felt cold.
Just a few thoughts to throw in the pot.

  6. In all seriousness, it is worth looking at Ski wear products because the cold is what they aare designed for. The Motorcycle world is simply trying to adapt. The important thing is to be able to have some protection underneath.

  7. I like Keis gear, both myself and my wife (pillion) use it. My gear is all wired to the bike, the wife uses a battery with her jacket. Good quality, long lasting.
