  3. Not sure if this is a good or bad week:

Booked for the Bruce Springsteen film on Thursday, so that will be good. Now I have to address two things that won't be good. The DVLA are on my back, as is my bike insurance company.

  4. I was having a tidy up today in the potting shed with 1999 dated newspapers in between pots.

  5. So this morning, in a blink of an eye, I was back on hospital. I had chest pains again, so I spoke with my cardiac nurse who suggested I rang 111, which I did. They sent an ambulance and the paramedics (one who came to my rescue when I had a cardiac arrest back in July) did tests and took me to the local A&E for further tests.

I really don't think this is heart related but is a digestive/oesophagal issue as it causes the same pain. But they need to get to the bottom of this to treat it.

They did a second ECG (all normal), bloods (all good), and did my blood pressure (slightly higher than it should be). I then had to wait a couple of hours so they could do the second lot of bloods to see if anything had changed.

The second lot of blood markers were slightly up but not enough to concern the doctor and two cardiologists. And they think it's likely to be a digestive issue but it needs referring to a specialist by my GP to be checked out.

As it happens I've got an appointment with my GP tomorrow anyway and so will discuss a referral for digestive investigation etc to see what else could be the cause of the chest pains. I hope that's the start of sorting it cos this is now becoming a real pain and is starting to impact on my day to day life.

  9. Been blue lit to the local hospital 3 times in the last 45 years with similar symptoms. No evidence of a heart attack on each occasion but scary nonetheless. I cannot put my finger on a trigger but have suffered with my body producing excess stomach acid for most of those 45 years. I get to recognise the symptoms quite early now and can reduce the severity of the “indigestion” attack and oddly, drinking a tumbler of just off boiled, hot water is the quickest. Mind you, the resulting release of the trapped wind is quite loud :D Andy

  12. You wouldn’t believe the amount of Peptobismol I had this morning before deciding to call 111. Rennie’s wouldn’t touch the side!

  13. Are you on a ppi ?

If not, it would be worth talking to your GP about that, or buy them over the counter in a pharmacy and try them out for efficacy. As always, subject to proper medical advice;)

  14. First thing I went to the docs and he's getting me a "camera down the throat" appointment as a matter of urgency (2-4 weeks hopefully) and I'm being also going to be tested in a couple of weeks for a stomach bacteria (H Pylori) as that could be the cause of these issues. But they can't test for it for 2 weeks as I have to get the lansoprazole out of my system by then. The downside is that I could experience more chest pain in the next 2 weeks by being off the lansoprazole. But this test needs doing as the camera won't pick up the H Pylori.

And that's this morning medical news from ET Towers

    How are you all? :)

  15. What have they said about the side effects of not taking Lanzoprazole?

  16. If offered, I can wholeheartedly recommend you take the knockout drops before they insert the camera. It is NOT a pleasant experience :sob: Andy

  17. I wanted sedation but they couldn't get a line in my veins so I had it with just the throat spray. I thought I would be sick but it turned out ok :D

  20. Sorry, I thought the lanzo lined your stomach to prevent (other) meds giving you unpleasant gastric side effects that leave you hanging around the smallest room in the house.
