Hi I'm wanting to fit a slightly heavier spring to the rear of my 24 V4S to make it more suitable for 2-up touring. Can anyone advise on the standard spring size / spec / rating etc please... Thanks
I put a stiffer spring on my 2012 S with the electronic Ohlins shock for the same reason. I've not had any issues. I even had a custom spring made by a company in Sheffield
I think the Skyhook was 2013 onwards , not the Ohlins as they are electronic not Skyhook. Similar to the new V4s PP , not Skyhook .
I’d wonder why it isn’t suitable with the std spring? Ducati must have factored in spring rates with maximum load etc.
2016 dvt with skyhook shocks and ive had my rear re sprung for 2 up touring. made the bike feel so much better 2 up loaded but also improved the handling when solo riding. Cant see why it cant be done and improve the V4s. T-tech suspensions did mine
To be honest the V4s Suspension is spot on , solo or 2 up. My first 2021 was great , the PP with the Ohlins not. The Grand Tour also was fantastic , now my 25 with the new upgraded suspension is even better , with the new tech and dual connection. I had my R1250 gs with full Tractive Electronic Suspension front and rear , expensive , very good , but not close to the standard Ducati set up with the Skyhook. The Ducati two up , fully loaded a joy, solo a scratchers dream . You may be chasing a Unicorn there with the Skyhook , I agree with the ohlins (non Skyhook ) its well worth it as the package is to broad to suit all and will improve with tuning. Im not knocking the PP owners but real roads and back road thrashing the Skyhook wins hands down , for me.
