The only real enemy if you’re a a proper Englishman. Any predictions? Aussies got a few injuries with their bowling attack. England appear to have a fully fit Archer (if that’s even a real thing). Haven’t seen the weather forecast but if it stays dry I think the first test will be over quite quickly. Especially if England bat first, just a hunch.
I'd rather fall asleep for 4-weeks than spend any valuable time staring at this. Rather like my thoughts on what is called 'football' these days, even though it used to be a game I played up until I was 42. Now rugby.............Each to their own though, "I know, I know" - Sybil says
i would say the same for both cricket and football. however, i did watch a fair bit of a twenty twenty game once while waiting for a dhansak. that was entertaining enough. and i'm sure folks will forgive me just this once for going a lil off topic. this was a tad entertaining too. Liam Hamilton on X: "The wait is over!….Huge audience see @ScotlandNT qualify for #WorldCup for 1st time this century (!), 2.6m on BBC2 & 300k on BBC Scotland channel - biggest ever crowd in channel’s history & best Scotland goal ever?…4m peak at final whistle in 4-2 win. https://t.co/BK7w19YzyL" / X
I watched the game. Very entertaining! Scotchland were dominated over the 90 but that’s the beauty of football, with a bit of luck it can all come together. McTominay’s goal was fantastic, as was the 3rd and 4th goal. Definitely a memorable game for the jocks.
i didn't see it myself. i've recently unsubscribed from SKY TV. just in time for missing the Autumn series and now this. clever. v,efn clever.
This whole story is mental, imagine getting rattled by Monty 24 hours before the first test starts hahaha https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/cx2p29l8ddxo
That was some 1st day! Just watched the highlights… Had to laugh at the Aussie commentary this morning…
Archers opening spell was just spiteful keep him and stokes fit and we will always stand a chance in the series . Great watching the quicks beat up the cheating cry arse too. Just hoping I don’t wake up to “England collapse again” tomorrow morning. Lots of people comparing this test to the recent aus India series and saying there’ll be big second innings incoming but let’s be brutally honest India aren’t as frail and don’t bat like England. I’m yet to be convinced.
I was watching it live when whoever was commentating said something like, The Barmy Army promised not to boo Alex Carey when he came out to bat, they lied. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/cricket/2137105/England-Australia-Alex-Carey-Ashes
