Commonplace everyday items are not necessarily dull looking. It is possible to design surprising, extraordinary even. Ducatiphiles know this.
Triumph Battleship Grey. Best I could find searching online before getting bored. My mate put a T120R motor in a Shell Blue chassis and had our professional painter and Triumph guru mentor do it Battleship Grey, and it was gorgeous - next to it, in real life. Photos don't do it justice. It's one of the shades that always look good (like black and chrome). If I did the 999 Battleship Grey I'd have to paint the frame something else. Though red would look good:
