V4 Removing Plastic Covers Over The Rocker Cover

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Gav101, Nov 24, 2025.

  1. Has anyone attempted to remove the black plastic covers that hide the rocker covers on a 2025 Panigale V4?

I removed them from my 23 bike mainly for aesthetics and for me the bike just looks great without them. It wasn't the fastest job though with so much removed just to achieve something more pleasing to the eye.

Anyway i am guessing might be the same case with the 2025 bike. Tank off to get to three screws that retain the covers.

    Cheers

  2. If you are talking about the rear cylinders the covers aren’t like the previous bike and screwed to the inside of the subframe!
They are part of a one piece section that sits on top of the rear rocker cover..

  3. Sorry i should have said the rear cylinders! But thanks Andy this is really helpful! Looks like tank off still and a sea of plastic covers to get to it.

  4. Finally I got around to doing this "small" project and I am really happy with the results. The plastic covers are insulated and also have a rubbed flap that you cannot see in the above diagram. Removing it should help dissipate a lot of trapped heat there is a bit of a weight saving. Cover weighs 430grams not including bolts.

A quick run down how to do it:

You do have to drop the tank which is easy enough, just remove the battery cover, the top side panels above the frame and the rear subframe panels. There are 3 lines and a fuel pump harness you need to disconnect, 1 breather, 1 return and the fuel line. Plus the fuel pump which below the seat area.

6 bolts in total hold the tank in 4 under the seat and two up front on the side of the tanks. (Allen and Torx heads) Remove the tank and then you need to drop the subframe.

Remove the two front subframe bolts and then the rear two, lower the subframe enough to give you some space to remove the cover. You need to unclip both coil pack leads and thread those back through the cover. The cover has a rubber extended flap and the breather hose runs through that. Rather than unclipping the hose i just cut the rubber flap and removed the 3 nuts holding the cover and then it will pull out.

You need to make sure you re-route the fuel pump cable otherwise it may flap about and potentially rub on the the studs that were securing the cover. (The studs hold the cam cover in place) Mine tracks between the coils and breather and has more than enough slack to re-route it.

Then just stick it all back together, admire your work and hope it starts :) Should take about 2-3 hours in total.
