Went for my appointment at the fracture clinic this morning, not really the outcome I was wanting, he wants to send me for a CT scan, and depending upon what that shows, they may want to fit some 'upgrade parts'
She is always witty and good fun, she’s found herself an 87 year old toy boy and they are planning to go on a love boat cruise ! …all in her head mind
40 miles on the Darmah for what may well be it's last biff of the year. Cold made it run lean at idle so spitting & banging a little but motored great otherwise. Heated gloves helped make it good to be out on the bike.
Copying living artists is like fancy dress with guitars to me. An odd cover song is fine. Occasionally a covers band is OK background perhaps in a pub at New Year. But a few hours of impersonation? Never going to happen to me. I can easily watch Pink Floyd actually perform in concert on video and hear them genuinely playing. A large projector screen and sound system is far preferable to me. But each to their own eh?
Just sat in the American Express lounge at the O2 enjoying a beer before going up to our suite for Halestorm Andy
Ordered a new car. Should have it for Xmas with a bit of luck, Though I'm not bothered if it drifts in to January.
I have played in several covers bands. We did a gig to abt 800 people a good few years back as the support to a Queen tribute. We went down a storm, but by about halfway through the Queen set, you could see the crowd getting fed up with Queen numbers when they wanted to party to a mixed bag of songs. In hindsight we agreed the bill should have been reversed. On another note, it’s amazing how much female attention the Freddie guy got - he only had a greasepaint tache but wore all the kit - had a queue outside his dressing room - usually for more than autographs!!
Saw the Counterfeit Stones 30 years ago - very tongue in cheek and brilliant. Another ‘exception’ is The Bootleg Beatles - amazing.
You'll be fine! And at least when the batteries run out after twenty minutes (56 miles) there's some ICE power to get you home. Enjoy.
At my favourite concert venue, the Royal Albert Hall, for The Music of Bond; the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Alison Jiear and Matt Ford performing with Charlie Higson presenting. Very good so far.
