They will possibly tig weld a bar or nut onto it, or induction heating? Easyouts could be used, something that small 8mm? doubt it. Other option ground down drilled out and helicoiled?
an update, i ordered a specific stud removing tool but this didnt work. the bike is booked in to ducati now to sort. WHilst i was putting the exhaust manifold back on another bolt sheared off whilst i was doing it up by hand, i dont think these things are made of very strong stuff. i just hope the dealer doesnt say they cant fix it and ive got 25 grands worth of scrap metal.
From memory the recommended torque for those nuts on the studs is very low, only 10Nm if I’m not mistaken. Just enough to compress the gasket.
if its 10mm proud when the exhaust is off can you not get two nuts on then only back off the first one using the second to hold it all tight Its always my first line of attack in that situation and with a 10nm spec it shouldnt be overly wedged in there.
