Folks I know there is a tonne of threads but done a search..... I'm used to Bridgestones for yrs, had 014's, 015's, 016's on all the fireblades I've owned. Have 021's on the CBF600s . However, the 749s I have has the pirelli tyres, bsb spec but I dont like them one bit. I aint afraid of riding the bike in corners either. The mechanic I use has said to me to try the Michelin Pilot Power 2ct ? I will use the bike for mainly dry use but get caught in the odd shower. The CB is the hack Who's using the Pilot Power 2ct's and what do you make of them ? tks !!!
Always ran Pirelli on all my Ducati's, but, due to more motorway riding on the current bike, I found the tyres squaring off. Moved to Mich 2ct's in an attempt to extend tyre life. Feel very good in the dry, reached the edge of the tyre on a track day, wear seems to be even. Worth giving them a try.
Had Power Ones and rated them, but am currently running Power Pures on the 848. Motorcycle Tyres | On Road, Off Road, Track, Dirt & Scooter Tyres from Michelin
Well, took the pepsi challenge and got the 2CT's fitted on Saturday. Its been like over there raining non stop but Saturday was a super day. Knocked up a few miles and v happy.
Went for 2ct Pilot Powers this year on my 999s. I've been to a very wet TT on them and found them to be good... They were fantastic around Cadwell yesterday in the inters group and have stood up to the abuse well
had pilot powers and now using power pure's, I think they are a great tyre and the best wet tyre I have used so far.
I have 2CT's on my monster on road and track for some time, and been very happy, good grip in all but the greasiest conditions and, flat out awesome on dry lanes and the track i bought a set of wheels with part worn BT016 which i used over winter until recently. I found i was sliding around alot more with the brigstones, especially when tyres were cold and wet i have tried a set of the pilot pures which are a little stickier that the 2CT especially in the wet, but have i have found them doing odd things when cornereing very hard at extreme leans on track, which im putting down to the lighter carcuss deforming. it only does this at the very edge of the tyre tho, up to that point its an even better in everyway than the 2CT. cant say i noticed the improved handling effect that the lighter carcuss way supposed to offer. power one street (and power one cup) are awesome track day tyres (especially with the V profile fronts, you tip in so quickly) but will square off very quick if you are doing much motorway riding
Any idea what the wear rate is like on the Pures versus the 2CT? Basically, I find the 2CT offers enough grip for the road. If the Pures offered more at the expense of tyre life, I wouldn't buy them.
