I'm looking for new pads for my 2022 PP. I've been more than happy with the original Brembo ones performance and durability. Looking online the original item code is 61341271A for Brembo pads at £99 a pair. I have a vague memory that Ducati used a different pad compound for the PP - the same ones as the Panigale V4S? If I order stock Brembo pads from say "bikehps.com" does anyone know which compound I need to order to match the OEM ones? SC, SR, SA etc. Also most sites don't have the option to select a V4 PP, which other bikes are the calipers shared with? TIA
If you want to stay with Brembo you want 07BB37SA - LA are slightly longer lasting. They’re both HH friction rated, as were your OEM ones, the difference is in the compound. The OEM ones are built to a price, the after market Brembo ones are built to a specification. https://www.bremboparts.com/europe/en/catalogue-bike/pad/07BB37SA?compatibility=true The cheapest place in Europe is Carpimoto in Italy at €35/pair. Admittedly you’ll pay vat when they arrive in the UK but even so. £99/pair is usurious.
I just went for OE again, like you thought they were ok, although I have got a new set of SA's in the shed, prob put them on next time.
I ride with 2 x PP V4 guys, they changed their pads for EBC HH when the originals were worn out, EBC HH's are usually very good pads, we've been using them for years. Both guys noticed a drop in braking performance, they weren't bad just not as good as the very expensive originals hence, both swapped back to OE within 1000 miles.
I’ve got a as new set from my panigale v4 if you want them ? I removed them with zero miles use. £50 plus a bit for postage If you are interested I can do you pics and numbers first..are your callipers stylema ?
Hi @andyb , thanks for the offer. The front pads I'm after are 07BB3796. I can’t quite make out what's stamped on the pads you have but I don't think they are the same? Cheers
Im fairly confident the pads Andy is offering are exactly the same as those fitted to the Pikes Peak as OEM fitment. In which case they’re perfectly suitable ie the same as you presently have fitted.
Thanks everyone for all your help, much appreciated. Andy - I'll take them - I'll drop you a PM. Paul, Carpimoto is a great call, only problem is you need a minimum order value of €160 before they will ship to the UK.
Plenty of reputable UK based retailers offering alternatives to the OE part. 2 pairs of SBS 841RST pads for £65 to £70. I find it odd that SBS are now part of Brembo but still retail a quality part for half the price and IMO, I found their DS-1/DS-2 pads better than the Brembo Z04. Andy
That’s strange, they don’t have any minimum order value for anywhere else. Plus at €160 that puts it into bracket where customs duty will be applied as well as VAT (although I read that’s changing too and the UK Govt are removing the £135 exemption and reducing it to £0 - the UK State coffers must be really empty). Perhaps they just don’t want to supply into the UK - shame that as they’re pricing for Brembo brake pads is less than the trade price here in Ireland, even with delivery factored in, and their stuff turns up within about 3 days.
I get mine from a Triumph main dealer, the ones for the speed triple RS are the same and are supposedly a Brembo compound with a little more bite after a recommendation from Al Fagin. I've always been very happy with them and they are cheap too around £70 a pair
I am flabbergasted at the prices you guys in the UK are seeing for these pads, they’re mostly available from a variety of retailers across Europe at around 40-45€ (£35-40) per pair.
There might be a minimum order value to take the customs charges and additional paperwork shipping to UK into consideration
