Is There A Problem With Www.bike-parts-ducati.com ?

  1. Hi folks.

This is worrying. I've just received a concerning email from one of our favourite online Ducati parts retailers; www.bike-parts-ducati.com.

See attached / below which seems legit.

The email claims their partner has gone into liquidation and they've cancelled my order, citing the need to raise a dispute with PayPal to claim a refund.

Always found them to provide exemplary service. Anyone have any intel or insight ?

    Thanks. Rich B.

  2. Have a look in the Ducati Dealerships thread; it would appear that In Moto, or Ducati Croydon, were their partner in this and they have just announced they've gone under.

  3. Ah. I see. Didn't see that thread. Thx mate. It would look like that's probably the reason for the email then. Ducati Croydon closure looks to be the cause. My payment on PayPal was made to InMoto who are mentioned in the close down post. Thku.

  5. Update. Contacted PayPal through the refund / resolution centre. Completed the online questionnaire thingy. Added the screenshots from the other post about In Moto / Ducati Coventry closure and my reply from bike-parts-ducati and hey presto! instant refund. No quibbles. Result. Now just to contact MotoRapido and order the parts again !!

  6. Thanks for the email. I just had the same email from an order. Do you guys know of a good alternative to getting parts?
    Thanks

  8. Aren't they a middle-man website with an agreement with dealers in various countries to supply the parts. A WhoIs check seems to indicate French ownership. Their FAQ is suitably vague and the terms and conditions, and other legal pages currently return 404 page not found errors. If the UK Ducati dealership that they have this agreement with has gone to the wall then it's possible that they will be finding another to fill that gap and will shortly be operational again.

  9. Why not cut the "middle man" out and go direct to your local dealer? They could all do with a bit of business the way things are going.

  10. I get all my ducati stuff from an experienced dealer. Have a good relationship with the parts guy who knows his stuff and has given very very useful advice, and who on occasion has got me even more valuable advice from their technicians.
All of this is way more valuable than a small saving on Internet buying.

  11. That’s sad to hear but my order took 3 months to come through with me chasing them regularly. They never contacted me to explain the delay ever so at least they reached out.
I had decided I would rather just use my local dealer next time. At least fowlers lets you no stock levels just a shame they don’t do Ducati.

  12. Thanks, using the dealer is a great idea. I was so used to the dealers in the US that you need to order over the phone then drive there to pay and pick up. While I was in Los Angeles it was super easy as there were so many dealers. In Colorado, the closest one was 90 miles away and over a huge mountain pass… the internet was definitely my friend.

  13. Ah, you mean the guy they ring up for advice when they have a problem with stuff they've bought from elsewhere? I had one guy come in complaining that I'd re keyed all of the luggage his mate had bought from me to match the keys on his 1200 GSA he'd also bought from us and I'd quoted him 15 quid a lock to code his for the set of luggage he'd bought from a BMW parts site in Germany. He threatened to complain to BMW UK over discrimination. I asked him if he gave free work and advice to non customers where he worked.......
