It’s All About The Vibe Man

  1. I had the same diagnosis from a "GP". Since then a worn out knee cap, Physio therapy sorted the knee out ..so far. Wrists ok now , was painful. Hospital consultant said you have not got carpal tunnel , it's arthritis. So much for GP's !

  2. Buzzy Kwakas, I really used to like them, but had enough.

  3. What fixed your wrists? I seem to recall some people used to wear copper bracelets?

  4. Hi mate,

I’ve been in a similar position you’ve explained, due to a stroke and ongoing un diagnosed issues, I have very little to no feeling in my left hand and foot but is very painful most of the time.

I had to sell my 1299s panigale as to me was complete torture to the point I only rode it for 50 odd miles the last year I had it.

looked at going back to the Fireblade’s I’ve had and looked at the new bike but the riding position was hideous and extremely heavy on the wrists with massively high rear sets.

Remembered how vibey my last blade was after taking so much weight off it so not an option.

ended up buying a v4s street fighter of all bikes, but so far have found the clutch a lot lighter than the 1299 to the point i can poodle in 2nd or 3rd doing the speed limit comfortably.
The riding position is not on the wrists so again very comfortable and for me not bolt upright so my spine injury isn’t compressed.

keeps me on a bike I can keep an interest in and actually do some miles on, to the point I’ll be looking into the panigale version next year to see if the v4 configuration in that bike can be manageable to get back on a sports bike.

Hope it works out for you and you get on something you enjoy

  5. Basically a velcro wrist strap with a copper/ aluminium support for the palm and wrist. It worked for me. Keep it on overnight. Will try and down load pics if computer says yes.

  6. I had it in one wrist about 8 years ago, had the operation, the difference was amazing, the pain used to wake me up. The other wrist started to get similar last summer, got bad after doing the NC500, had the op in the winter, again fully sorted. Got arthritis in fingers etc, getting old is shit.

  8. Sorry to hear of your issue with being sensitive to vibes - don't get a Triumph Tiger !

I had MT-10 and the similar engined R1.

I seem to remember the R1 being so fast that you do almost anything on the road and never reach anywhere near the red line. It would stall at about 15 mph in first. And you six gears !

How about one of the new 40th Anniversary GSXR-1000 coming out soon ?

  9. Yes. I have been looking at them, I do love a gixer thou. Waiting for the reviews to see if it’s worth the extra over and above an older used one. Got to be blue!

  10. Most sports bikes are poo below 3000 rpm. Just ride the clutch! Then wrist ache around town. Swings and roundabouts.

  11. I'd stay off the playgrounds, you'll hit some children when they're getting off the swings and roundabouts.

  12. Hope your webbed feet are ok, it gets soggy in the fens this time of year!
