(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. Perhaps my entrance into the Ducati world with my 1998 ST2 is typical of my style. The ST2was never a superbike but it is without doubt the most powerful bike I have ever ridden and I think I am going to get a few years of great pleasure from it. As Ive said before, she has already cost me twice what she's worth but I care not. She is worthy of saving.

  2. That’s the exact attitude I had with my 900ss

  3. I’d love one, loved them when they came out. Is it 4.0 V8?

  4. I'm so sorry Darth Vader but it's a V12. For me, the 8 series had to be the V12. The 840 is a great car but it will never be a V12

  5. Wow, that we have hit a mutual situation. Please tell me about your first experience

  6. Buying my first Ducati at around 30 years ago,
a 900ss. After a mixture of other Ducati models over the years I’m back where I started with a 900ss. This one needed a lot of TLC and cash.
But it’s now there with quite a few parts replaced including the tank.
Starts first hit and bring a smile to my face
But I would consider swapping for that old red BM if you’re up for it?

  7. What I am getting from this forum and what makes my heart grow so fond is that there are so many of us that are naive, innocent and in need of honest guidance.

We pick the brains of all of the genuinely brilliant people on this site who offer their time for nothing and I have to say that I am blown away with the camaraderie.

  11. Your paintwork is to die for. I guess its garaged?

  12. It’s a reference to you being 'blown away' but your leaf blower not working :)

  14. Oops, i'm being really thick here but do not understand?

  15. So sorry, I now understand and regret being slow on the uptake.

    Hopefully blower sorted tomorrow! :)

  16. It is. It was partly restored and painted 10 years ago.
It doesn’t get used as much these days as the kids are older and I’ve 2 Ducatis but I do enjoy driving it.
    I’ve owned it 19 years.

  17. Apologies, it was an attempt at being funny by trying to connect your two posts.

  19. Spent all day long on the leaf blower! Most machines with starter cords have them mounted on the side for access but oh no, not mine and I now know why it was cheap. IT's an MTD 3000g machine and they obviously decided to build everything around the starter cable. It was indeed a complete strip down to get at the mechanism then off to Toolstation for a new cord then started to reassemble. You pay £160 for an OK machine or 3 to 4 times it for a Stihl or similar.
It's actually been a damn good collector if a bit heavy but it's done me 10 years plus so far.
