Can’t quite make it out from the image, is it a lancia?

 

yes, it's a B24 spider, often listed in the top 10 most beautiful production cars ever made. this is particularly rare because it has a hard top, which really suits it for my eyes anyway.

Is it only me that sees a small Bush above a front entrance with a waste facility round the back?

 

Seriously, they've made a reasonable job of making the front look nice with an elaborate arch and stone trim.
Why put the bin enclosure right behind where everyone can see it through the Arch?
What a crap idea.

 

And probably still is.

 

Presumably because:
A) any place in front would look worse, and
B) the inhabitants of the ground floor flats would grouse like hell if they had everyone coming noisily to the back of their gaff to dump stinky garbage.

Are you referring to George of Lydda, or Al-Khidr (means "the Green One") and is sometimes spelt "Al-Khodr" ?
