Hi there, Im looking for suggestions to help with a stutter on my 1995 900 ss when throttling hard . Normally the bike runs and starts absolutely fine and when I accelerate gently, there is no problem at all, but when I hit the gas hard, perhaps when overtaking or starting off from standing start it stutters just for a second and then takes off as normal. The stutter is a problem as it jerks the bike off/on all in about a second. I've had the carbs off twice to check for blockages and adjusted the air/fuel mixture but without success. Any ideas.
Fuel or sparks. Simple things first, fuel filter, pump etc, is fuel flowing? Then sparks, plugs, leads and coils healthy?
Thanks for reply yup Ive checked all those except coils. Just because Im not 100% how to do those, but Ill look that up. The bike runs fine all the time, just at the point of hard throttle is where the problem lies.
Diaphragms? It sounds like it’s just not breathing properly, maybe the slides just aren’t moving properly? It will be something silly
