Ducati To Enter The Carbon Bicycle Market

  1. This is a strategic mistake.

  2. Get a world tour team using them (Italian for eg) which isn’t out of the question if they’ve already got the likes of Nibali involved and you’ve done the hard work.
I’m assuming they will be north of ten grand though so not exactly little jonnys next Christmas present for most people.
You have to admire the going all in on two wheeled sport of any description strategy, I wish triumph did.

  3. Do speedway next please :joy:

  4. It'll appeal to Ducati brand whores, can't see much of a crossover of Ducati motorcycle owners who actually ride Cycles.

I'd throw my hard earned at a Colnago, a well established brand with pedigree.

  5. Most people on here would lust more over a Raleigh Chopper.

  6. Ducati have been collaborating with leading bicycle manufacturer’s and selling Ducati labelled high end bikes for exorbitant prices for several years. This is what KTM did during the pandemic and lost multiple millions of Euros. Andy

  7. I would guess they don’t have to go after the motorcycle market or it’s certainly not their target market? The cycling market is a lot bigger. See TDF viewing figures etc.
you’ve only got to get your foot in the door and they’ve got all the basics in place already by way of development and wind tunnels etc.
Seems like a decent flip of the coin to me but time will tell.
A lot of people tutted when they entered the MX world etc..

  8. A quick google tells me Audi sell bikes. For ££££’s

  9. Why buy a Ducati branded copy of a high end bicycle when you can buy it direct from the manufacturer, for less ? Makes no sense to me whatsoever. Andy

  10. I just don't see there being that much demand from cyclists.

I've cycled a fair few years now and at any large sportive I have not ever seen a non cycling brand bike which suggests to me there is either not much demand or great resistance to purchasing a big ticket item from a non established brand.

As you're aware there are plenty of viewers of Cycling events that have also an extreme dislike of cyclists or don't cycle that much I'll assume they aren't the potential market.

  11. Triumph need to build a Schwinn type crossover for sub £500 and beat everyone imo

  13. U.K. Ducati dealers seem to have had Ducati branded bikes in their showrooms for a number of years. My guess is they are forced into this by Ducati as they take up floor space that could be occupied by a motorcycle. These bikes are not cheap and as I haven’t ridden one it would be unfair to guess their quality. You would like to think the quality meets the expectation of the brand.

Their target audience, maybe people who know they need to lose weight and get in shape to ride their motorcycle. If that’s the case Mounjaro may have trumped them.

  14. Same as the ducati e bike, ok it's ducati on the frame but there are far better e bikes out there.

  15. They’ll sell a decent amount in the middle east, I’m sure
