Dropped into the Valeter’s to see if my bike was ready. The roads have dried up and I don’t want to get it mucky again riding it home. Answer, no. Darn!
Crashed my new (to me) Beta on the road a couple of hours ago. I was riding through a village doing about 30 and stupidly, was looking down at my phone trying to work out where the next trail was, when the old biddy in front of me panicked due to oncoming traffic and slammed on the anchors, so I grabbed a handful and the combination of cold, wet, muddy knobblies and the laws of physics introduced me to the asphalt. No damage to the bike or me, although I face planted the tarmac, so it rung my bell a bit which has left me with a bit of a headache and it’s also put a big hole in the knee and elbow of my pants and jacket. Skerrrrrrrccccchhhhh That would make a nice Xmas card.
Thanks. My right knee and my back are pretty sore this morning and I’ve got a bruise coming up on my chin, but other than that, all good thanks. The back and the knee might not even be related to the crash tbh as I also fell awkwardly about half an hour later when my foot slipped from under me while I was doing a spin turn.
“If you ain’t crashin’ you ain’t tryin’”? Tbh, it was only a slip, but one of those where you get all twisted up. A few weeks ago when I was in Bell Yard, down the side of the RCJ, I even managed to crash when I was a pedestrian by standing on a wet leaf which made my foot shoot out from underneath me. Very embarrassing.
