One quick question: - what is involved in buying used panniers? Are they just a straight fit (assuming the lower mounting arm is present), or is it more complex than that? Avoid Oxfordshire if you want to keep your sanity - every village is 20mph. I have nothing against 20s in the approiriate place (schools, shopping areas, tight squeeze high streets) but blanket coverage doesn't work - nobody takes any notice. I recommend any Cotswolds back roads, i.e not the Fosse! Or just go to Herefordshire and suffer the mud.
