Hi I know it's a long time to reply but I have had my 500 desmo sport since new - 45 years! It has been a love/hate relationship and nothing but trouble!! It certainly gathers interest especially from other Ducati owners who always say "I've never seen one before!" I would be glad to swap for a 900ss but it would not be fair on you!

An IOM Ramsey resident had a 500 parallel twin as part of his extensive collection. I saw it at his house.

I eventually bought a very nice 350GTV and found a 500 Sport Desmo motor to fit in it. I had to do a top end rebuild and I've fitted electronic ignition. And now I cannot get it to run. I have double checked everything but I realise I have exceeded my meagre machanical talent and now I need to find a professional with the patience to help me out. I have spoken to Lee at Louigi Moto, but he politely passed on it. So, does anyone know someone who could take this on? many thanks, Simon
Craig of cmr racing might be able to help, he was working on a 500 a couple of years ago but was finding it very difficult to source parts. He is based in lincolshire
