  1. Whoa! there's a lot going on there

Is that a twin turbo set up then... with them in series ?

And what's going with that 'sump' under tray shenanigans & also that pully & belt which looks to be driven off the crank, fuel pump perhaps

Or are we back into the realms of AI...: unamused:

  2. I gave up trying to make sense of it late last night, but yes it looks like series Turbos to me.

The underslung tank I'd assumed was for the much larger amount of Oil required than the normal sump would hold.

And the small belt driven 'thing' I was guessing was something to do with ignition.
Certainly quite a few years back high power drag bikes running more fruity fuels than pump fuel would convert to a car type distributor system as the normal bike wasted spark system wasn't suitable.
But I am talking years ago and it probably doesn't apply here.

  5. That sounds a lot more sensible as top drag cars use magnetos to supply the spark - perhaps it's the same here.

I posted this quote a year or so back "The air fuel ratio in nitro cars is less than 1.7:1. The mixture is nearly solid liquid by the time the piston is at TDC of the compression stroke. Without that level of ignition, you run a high risk of hydraulic conditions in a cylinder. We count on the ignition to begin the combustion process so the piston can pass TDC without becoming stuck in a hydraulic state. The magnetos are both 44 amps, much like the power of an arc welder. It’s takes that much power to burn that much fuel. The ground straps on the spark plugs are often burned to nubs at the end of the run. It’s rather incredible.

  8. And it takes about 800-1,000 BHP just to run the supercharger. They’re incredible machines

  9. You’d probably be better off with a chisel or a blowtorch in this weather

  10. Your backside used to hover an inch off the toilet seat during the winter.
    Good leg work out.

Would have been far easier on the skin than the Izal.
