My Dad is thinking about selling his 998S this year it's 2002 11,000 miles BP but also has the single seat option. Comes with termis plus originals. I'm trying to get pictures and full details over next couple weeks. It might be a bit too clean and expensive though. Lovely clean bike.
998 model years are 2002 to 2004. The first 2002 998 units were probably sold (and registered) in late 2001 (Nov-Dec) time frame. The first model year for the 999 was 2004 with first sales in late 2003. @VtwinDave is right though, there never was a « 2001 » 998. 2001 being the final model year for the 996.
