  1. Do you have a vested interest in this bud? You seem to be pushing it quite hard and go in on anyone that says they're not interested or don't like him. I also don't like football so won't buy subscriptions to watch that, are you going to tell me that's a must too?

  2. Stopped watching him when he said impact protection is a waste of money.

Sadly has become very much clickbait.

  3. Again, you are overthinking it.

I have paid my money - watched the film - and then I have recommended it to others on this Ducati forum - based on having paid for it myself and greatly enjoying watching it.

My motive is of wanting to share this enjoyment with everybody on the forum - which is honourable and not as you suggest being deceitful. I have seen something that I think others on this forum would also enjoy watching - something out of the ordinary - a world record attempt after all.

  4. Looks like you are under thinking it too me. A lot of people think Ryan is a proper lob, we get it you don't.

  5. My wife and I enjoyed it, though I felt the second half was better in that it was more watchable for a non-motorcyclist. The first half felt overly POV, which whilst accurately portraying what it feels like to do a road trip...became a bit too much for a movie/sofa experience. ;)

  6. Yeah I saw that, and thought the bloke is a complete knob. I'll probably end up watching this though, as it's got Ducatis in it, and they've set a world record, which is even more exciting.

  7. You've pressed ganged your Wife for half the cost too I'll wager, I'm guessing the kids just said no.:)
I'm sure a very expensive meal out will just about compensate for her loss of time......
It looks a hell of a challenge, I may have a look at it later.

I like his content, his footage looks very professional.

Not sure why he has his haters for his content, especially his protective kit episode.

  8. Thanks for the suggestion, might be worth watching on a cold January night!

Can I stir the pot and suggest Ewan and Charley’s various series!;):D

  9. Bingo, his early stuff was reasonably watchable but as you say it’s become click baity shite…

  10. Ok I’ll bite :D
Long way round was good I thought at the time but after that meh… I never watched the electrical one on general principles and the last one was just crap sorry, way too much scripted non motorbike junk.

  11. Yeah, I also quite enjoyed the first one...Long way round... but I think the best in the 'genre' has to be Itchy Boots on YouTube.

  12. Finished this yesterday. It's a good watch, captures the cinematic hectic nature of the trip pretty well. However, it doesn't capture much detail per area, which makes sense given there is so much to capture per country and so much to get done.

    8/10

  13. Spoiler Alert !;)

Perhaps this thread should have "Spoilers" added to the thread title, so readers will be warned that the contents of the film might be discussed ?

For me the racing through the traffic in India - that is really something else. I have seen other video footage of people riding through the traffic in India, on motorbikes, but racing through that traffic on big bikes, with luggage - could barely watch some of it. How they survived that without serious injury - I don't know !

The other interesting footage was in Australia, riding at night, with the Kangaroos. I suppose never really thought about it, but Kangaroos are not solitary animals, but live in groups. Not so much unlucky to come across a single kangaroo on the road in the outback - but likely to come across a group of them in the road, and they all run in different directions when disturbed ! Seen like that, it seems much more likely you will collide with one at night, rather than if they were solitary animals just moving randomly in the millions of square miles of outback. Never really thought of it like that.

Then there are the personal struggles when people are put under stress - which happens a bit in this film. I think Ryan handles it really well, always calm - and the others as well in their own way - a bit of humour helps ! They were a small team and worked through the stresses to the end objective. Nice pictures of them meeting the Ducati racing team ( think it was).

Another plus - no adverts. You can watch other content on youtube for free but have to put up with a barrage of adverts.

  16. Thanks - I thought I had some sort of add blocker with the antivirus software....I will have to look into it.

Thanks, must look into it. It has gotten worse. I didn't really mind, but now seems to have gotten to saturation levels !

  17. Nah you need to add an extension in the browser, which one are you using? And yeah YT is getting worse with ad penetration so the best option is to change browser. Brave blocks all ads by default no issues yet with youtube. It also stops websites tracking you & then bombarding you with tailored ads... And, allows all the extensions you want from chrome store.

DDG browser is okay, relatively simple but does not allow extensions, so for me using a password manager it's pretty much useless...

You are all using password managers now aren't you? Aren't you???

  18. I’m surprised it’s been so polarising. I found it a decent watch for a tenner and promotes biking content, win win from me.

It did feel a little lite on detail maybe at times , I thought that added to the sense of being in a rush.

Australia looked like a mind bending slog of straight roads and little in the way of features
