So what have you done today..?

  1. I've done jury service about 30 years ago.

Sent home by 10 am most days, I lucked out on a juicy murder trial that went on for while. The case I sat in on was drugs.

It's difficult to stay awake in a court room TBH.

I learnt that coppers don't need to fill in their notebooks anytime near the offence, in this case they waited 6 months.
Possibly to ensure that the narrative wasn't compromised......
The defence barrister was very unconvincing.
The only person worth listening to was the judge, especially in his summing up and his explanation of the meaning of being in possession with an intent to supply.

I was fairly compensated for my time as I was between contracts so was a money maker for me.

I am after my experience convinced that juries should in certain trials be well educated but I guess that would be frowned upon.
Not saying my co jurors were thick as mince but it took them a while to figure simple stuff out, especially when one of them asked in the jury room if a cannabis user smoked a 9 bar in one spliff.

Difficult to get a unanimous decision, ended up as a majority decision 10-2.

  2. Went out lunchtime for a bit of fresh air (at the office) waltzed over to Fowlers to order some spares....

    1. Spares counter closed down.
    2. There goes my fucking 20% discount.

Bugger....thats a big downside (99% of my time at Fowlers was being able to walk through the door and walk away with spares) most of the time..phoned in, (as theres a click and collect service) spoke to a woman on the end of the phone - who was nice enough but didnt seem that worried about helping....

Hope they reconsider but i doubt it...the personal service was great...gonna miss the lads...always used to have a good chat with them...!

  3. Somebody has asked today about something that i've up 4 sale, but it's good job they did asked me because my warehouse keys are missing.

Shutting down X is just the shitty government controlling the narrative in my humble opinion.!, NO Action on the rape gangs doing their thing with young girls.

I thought the following was probably meant to be in superscript

But there's too much wrong to be HTML. So I reckon it's 'Super Ended'. Like terminate with extreme prejudice.

  10. The same colour as mine with that motorbike gearshift mark.!

  11. And no rubber involved! I was thinking the rubber, or whatever it's steeped in, absorbs into the leather and that's that - then I realised that's entirely from the 999, which doesn't have a gearshift rubber. And I've never noticed oil down there either. I suppose it's kind of bruising the leather?
    It polishes up well!

  12. Tetbury Hospital today. Same shit, different hospital

"What the fook are you here for?

"I was sent here by Specsavers, as they kind of believed that you are an eye hospital and know about eyes."

"Specsavers are crap and they waste our time."

"And that's my fault, is it?"

They put shit drops in my eyes and I've now got some vision back.

I'm done with cooking eye hospitals and opticians. I'll get some reading glasses from Amazon ;)

  13. The offences allegedly took place between 2000 & 2013. AFAIK 9 have now been jailed in the last year. I don't know of any that were jailed prior to last year.

As awful as it is that there are bound to be scum involved in the Rotherham (and other incidents) something is very wrong with this picture.

There must be something wrong in the Police Forces who have not been able to apprehend these men since 2013. Were any jailed before 2024?

  14. Went for an eye test on Saturday, and as my prescription has changed, thought I’d treat myself to a new pair of specs.

Now, I know that Vision Express aren’t cheap, but when they want £340 for a pair of Oakleys with lenses, and I can get them for literally half the price online, bar a few pence, really do wonder how they are still in business.

Especially as they no longer make up glasses in store, and quote 7-10 days for delivery, they really have no USP any more. So I’ve ordered online (from a small independent optician based in Kent), and have absolutely no shame about doing so.
