Worth every penny when your sitting on the back on a sunny day with a cold beer watching the world go by.
these are an excellent watch if you have the time:- https://www.channel4.com/programmes/narrow-escapes/on-demand/74772-001
"A narrowboat that was left teetering on the edge of a giant hole after part of a canal in Shropshire collapsed has been pulled to safety. Paul Stowe's boat, the Pacemaker, was perilously close to falling into the hole on the Llangollen Canal in Whitchurch, which opened up on Monday after an "embankment failure" Very good news. Welldone to all in the rescue & canal services that facilitated this.
They have got both sides of the breach back in water now which is pretty good going. It’s the repair that will be the hard part.
I could see such breaches becoming more common what with the changes to our weather that now alternates between long dry and then very wet spells. Not to mention most must now be well over 200 years old.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cpqye1pz759t Our town has one main road in and out of it and when there’s roadworks it causes absolute murders. We had a burst water pipe that was gushing water down the hill at an incredible rate not monday just gone the one before. Was like a burst river and caused even more aggro cos a lot of it froze over. Took them five days to show up (this was last Friday) they dug a hole and left three way traffic lights that didn’t work in one direction there all last weekend and haven’t been back this week since causing halg hour tailbacks to move half a km. Waters still pissing down the hill. I fucking hate them with a burning passion. Worst things is every cunt uses my road as a high speed rat run to escape having to queue for an extra few minutes while all this is going on, on repeat. It starts at 6am. When is our government (whichever party that may be) going to start sticking up for its voters with these bloodsucking energy companies?
I guess when we realize our government is just another department of these bloodsucking energy companies
