  1. IMG_0217.jpeg Hi guys
Bought the wife a monster 937 today for when she passes her test.
She's tip toeing the bike so want to lower it for her, I’ve seen the lowered seat but read it’s a tad firmer then the standard with the less cushioning so looked at suspension options and seen the Ducati spring and kickstand kit that looks like it will do the trick so may buy it and fit it for her but has anyone else fitted it and find it gives the bike a good drop ok?
Lots of kit already ordered for it too!!!

  2. My girlfriend had the lowering kit fitted with the lower seat, from new. The 937 suspension is pretty basic but the mod was fine. Being a romantic fool, I later treated her to a Maxton front fork cartridge kit and rear shock which makes it a better bike for touring Europe. Andy

  3. did she ever complain about the lowered seat buddy, ive read a few people say theyre too stiff but others no issue!
ive ordered a seat to try first anyway then I'll order the lowering kit next if needed!

  4. The plastic seat moulding is the same for both seats so the only way to reduce the height is to reduce the thickness of the seat pad. My girlfriend will say, yes, the seat is ‘firm’ but it is supportive. She tends to use the 937 to tour Spain and France and her Scrambler Icon to scratch on. I’ve played with seat pads on all our bikes, my current Multistrada has the Ducati raised, heated seat pad which I managed to find cheaper than buying a used seat and having it rebuilt. I’ve never got my head around the foam vs gel arguments, had both and not sure I can decide on one over the other. I’d persevere until you get what your wife is comfortable with, I think the 937 is worth it. Andy

  5. cheers bud, so lowered seat came today and massively helped but I decided to knock the spring preload off on the rear as she's not a big girl anyway and then dropped the front forks through the yoke about 10-15mm and she's really happy with it, will see once we get bike out properly but im sure she'll be fine with it.
fitted a tail tidy and the plus top little fairing too, just waiting on a belly fairing and seat cowl for it now then need to fit her some heated grips and she's all good!!

  6. I have a lowered seat on my 937 30th Anniversary. It came as a job lot with a few other things so wasn't something I specifically looked for. I don't always have it fitted as the 30th Anniversary seat is much nicer to look at but I personally don't feel one is more comfortable than the other. Being a short arse I appreciate the slight drop when at a stand still with the lower seat. I have considered getting it recovered to match the bike and use it permanently.
