  4. Knew of the band, several albums since to look at, Thank you.
Big fan of repetitive strumming and reverb, and you've got me looking back for my stored memories:- The WEM Copycat* was the first i remember and nearly bought one despite not even having a guitar - aware that could be used on anything but best effect was always going to be guitar.

So Ian Thornley above uses:- Fractal Audio Systems Axe FX II XL (Ian mentioned in the comments that this is used for delays and reverb) Stuff has obviously moved on massively.

    *Gilmour used extensively as below:-

Steve Hillage also comes to mind

  7. They certainly were a great band and maybe still are?

(fast forward the first talking BS)

Or just download the "Love" album. I bought it in Andorra in '85. I remember walking in a snow storm on the main street, right after buying the cassette, wandering into McD's (there really weren't too many around then) and playing it on my walkman... Blown away man!

BTW I never feel old (women), probably because we've forgotten more good times than most people ever had, so whats to worry about?

  8. I’ll give that a watch tonight!

Right about being blown away by the Love album - I bought the LP at the time as even then at Uni I was a wee bit of a hifi buff and had a rega planar 3, NAD3130 & a set of KEF C20s (the weak point) in my room in halls of residence -played that album til the grooves wore out and still listen to it often
That they also played at the union was a total boost, me and my mates were all lined up across the stage front for the whole concert - was brilliant!

  9. You saw The Cult Live on the Love tour? Must have been off the wall.

  13. nice voice. good tune.
aww bollox. it's dry and clear again and she wants to spend another day in the garden. talking as somebody who's been 49 for quite some time now, what's it gonna take to drag my sorry ass outside today. (outwith work, it's where i listen to music, 90% of the time) chopping and staking 100,000 tonnes of wood takes it out of yah. maybe some old favourites.
