1260 Tyres - Sporty Rather Than Touring Recommendation Please

  1. Hi,
I am riding again but not planning any tours as I am not capable of much more than 60 miles a time, it’s a bit restrictive but at least I am able to ride again. I have previously fitted a couple of sets of Pirelli Angel gt 2’s mainly for mileage considerations which I quite liked but I am looking for a tyre which is more sporty than ultimate mileage and; having looked at the subject am at a loss which way to go. I would like fast warm up and good wet weather performance, I would be happy with 3k miles out of them (probably rather optimistic given my limitations). I have no experience of anything other than Pirelli angels so would appreciate suggestions from any one who has tried the alternatives. I did not get on with Michelin Road 4 on my previous multi 1200 but things move on. Any help would be appreciated. I was considering the Pirelli Rosso Diablo 4’sbut am not sure if they will meet my needs? Cheers

  2. You could go Rosso 4’s or shift from Pirelli to Conti Road Attack. The latter work pretty well from cold

  3. Or Dunlop Roadsmart 4's (not GT). Andy

  4. Used Conti RAs for years on my KTM 1190. Best all round tyre I've used. They do warm up fast and new ones don't need scrubbing in. Also pretty good in the wet.
I want to try the Rosso 4s on my Diavel this year if I can get a 240 rear locally. Very happy with the 3s. Loads of grip and feel and feel assured from cold. Never tried them on the wet though.
