So, had it off to clean etc Went to reinstall and there's a four mm gap betwix carrier and hub. I don't recall that being there before. Will it go down? Will it feck, even using a persuade does nothing and I don't want to go full Gorilla on it! Nothing had been altered bar a wee axle seal/bearing cover as the old one was shot. Not OEM, but from a reputable local company. Removed it, rechecked it, put it back in, same result... Thoughts? Is there meant to be a gap? Will it self-solve once I put the wheel back in and torque it all down? Curious... Cheers in advance. BTD
Cheers Mate, appreciated. I had actually called Ducati Glasgow with the query and they also confirmed by the simple exedient of getting up off their arse, crossing the showroom floor, crouching down and peering up the arse of a new Rally! That's a win as "the gap" was beginning to annoy me and I was about to reach for the King Size thumb detector. I just couldn't understand why there would be an intentional gap betwixt two flat machined surfaces that are so close together; I even ordered new bearing cap seals as I thought perhaps the non OEM ones were shite and causing interference. still seems an odd design, just a dirt and moisture trap...perhaps that's the idea!
