I bought my DP Touratech pillion seat from DMC, at around the time that the 1260 Multi came out they bought a container load of parts and accessories for the outgoing 1200 DVT Multi from Ducati in Italy. this included some DP Touratech seats. The pillion seat was originally priced similarly to the rider seat at a shade under £400 inc. VAT. Similar to you (maybe a different shipment), it sounds, I got one of these, from that bargain container, for half price. I already had the rider seat bought used off of a member on here.
Simply buy a cheap comfy chair from Argos and fit to bike. Weight difference shouldn't been an issue with a Diavel or multistrader. Could help with your farmers?

Comfort seat was great for me on both the 1200 & 1260. Am I the only one that finds it strange to have an optional extra called 'comfort seat', implying the standard version is uncomfortable?
I don't find it strange but cetainly annoying. I guess they want you to dip into the accessories catalogue and spend more money. They send them out with a cheap seat that's adequate for most people on a demo ride, and when you've bought the thing it's a case of, well if you want to be comfortable for more tha half an hour you'll have to spend another £250/350. I can almost understand it when the stock seat is a styling exercise, as it is on the 1260 Diavel, or when raised or lowered seats are offered to suit riders of different heights, but calling all accesory seats "comfort" does imply they should have done the bloody job right it the first place.
First impressions are excellent, apart from the new staples it’s hard to tell anything has been done from looking at it. I haven’t done a massive amount of miles yet but first impressions are excellent. I feel like I sink in a small amount instead of being sat on top (guy said original foam was incredibly firm). Felt great on the short run I did but will probably be a month before I do a long run where I know for sure how much improvement it has made. Place is a bit old school - phone only, doesn’t like emails, they only work on seats Wednesday to Friday. I sent mine Friday and it was back the Saturday after (8 days). They don’t ask for payment until they confirm what you want done and that they can do it to your satisfaction. They also offer a ride in/ ride out service if local.
