Mistral Slip Ons

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by VanVan, Jan 21, 2026.

  1. Hi all, has anyone tried Mistral slip on mufflers on a Ducati monster (first generation)? I have an M695 and fancy a change from the Termis which came with the DP ECU. They seem popular with the Moto Guzzi folk.

Would be grateful for any feedback on the sound of the Mistral mufflers.

I assume they will work ok with the DP ECU and air filter?

    Thanks.

  2. Yes, I've just installed a pair on my monster 900sie, can't vouch for the sound quality yet as my ECU is away being assessed, however the install was, er, educational to say the least, extremely fussy IMO, took several attempts to get it all lined up, TBH I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about them.

  3. Thanks for the pics . Your new mufflers look very very nice!! Is the finish brushed or polished? If the sound is right and work with your ECU well, then all good at the end.

I went for a pair of titanium Termis (low mount) used from ebay. Needed some good cleaning and polishing. Installing them was straight forward. Have a DP ECU since I had high mount carbon Termis for many years but I always craved to go back to low mount mufflers, the 1st gen monsters with the non-single swing arm look better with low mounts in view. Bike is M695, had it from new (2007). A need to find my stock muffler rearsets brackets and complete the installation of the Termis. Then see how they sound. The used Termis came from a Monster S4 but should work fine I hope with with DP ECU for my M695.

  4. ^ that looks lovely! It's the brushed / satin finish on mine, I'm sure you'll be fine with the DP ECU, I have one on my superlight replica which has the 900 ssie lump and its great.

  5. I really like the looks of the Mistral mufflers you have there, the megaphone look suits the older monsters well.

Not sure if you are still working on the installation but are you maybe missing the bracket which keeps the male-female connection tight and eliminates any gas leaks and backfiring when closing the throttle?

  6. Seems a back to front way of joining them to me.

  7. Thanks, no clamps supplied or required, the Termis I took off the monster had clamps. my other 900's have exactly the same type of sleeve fitting, never had an issue.

  8. Super. Enjoy the new sound and looks
