  1. The current project is to get my pictures taken on an Android phone shown here.

  2. First try worked but I somehow posted the picture twice. Second attempt worked better. Now you all know what a pint of Tribute looks like in the BA.

At some point this year, I will visit Riders either in Bristol or Bridgewater and inspect the Ducati Scrambler. I forget that a new Monster was in the mix, but they are expensive.

    Here's another picture;

  3. Achewy, I have just been on the Ducati website and the Monster is only about £500 more than a Scrambler, so the Monster wins, but if I suspend my hatred of 18" front wheels, then that Royal Enfield 650 is back and it's half the price of the Ducati Monster, so the conclusion is that I just have no idea.

No rush as I will not do anything this year. If I get the ST3 back on the road, I might do nothing at all.

Either way, I will shut up for a bit!

  5. That's me done with shutting up!

The Multi V2 looks ok and is a Nat's cock under 200kg I think when I looked earlier.

It costs a bit more than I would like but I won't know how much until I am in a position to deal and that won't be until next year. I will probably need a few thousand out of the hundreds of thousands in my trust fund fund but what the hell. It's my money and when my trustee says "no" I will point out that it is my money gained through ownership of a Ducati and this will replace the one lost to me,

I will make a final decision this time next year, when I should have more clarity on my driving licence situation.

It will be nice to just have Ducatis in the garage again.

I've binned the Yamaha MT09 YAMT idea as I like the idea of automatic transmission, but the MT07/9 bike doesn't really rock my boat. And it has to as this is just a fun purchase of a toy for me. Gear changing on Ducatis is easy and I hardly use the clutch.

I will visit Riders some time just for a double check, I will see if I can do a test ride this summer because I will be buying (if it happens) in February or March when it's not such a good time for a test ride,

  6. The Multi has 17" and 19" wheels so that rules it out for me. More pretend off-roading:weary_face:

  7. Given up on the idea of getting anything and will just stick. And get the ST3 back on the road. And that makes my life simpler, which is the main aim.

  9. I have more money (MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, it's a r . . . . . etc to the point of boredom) than I thought without bothering my trustee/solicitor to dip into my trust fund. The Ducatis still don't turn me on and for the price, they should. Take the new Monster, there was a time when Ducati used to show off the V-Twin, because they were proud of it. It was unique. Now, they are embarrassed about it and the object of the exercise is to hide it under as much plastic as possible. OK for a budget bike, but not OK for a premium product costing about a third more than rivals.

At the moment and with my 200Kg weight limit (self imposed) my list is:
Yamaha MT07/09 auto from £8100 to £10500 about 160-190 Kg
KTM 790 Duke £7999 otr 174 Kg plus fuel
    Aprilia Tuano 660 £9800 183 Kg dry

The KTM wins (at the moment - tomorrow is a new day!)

All from Fowlers, so very convenient.

and just to be clear. This won't be this year. I have two trips to Spain, one to Taunton and one to Paignton and I don't need the diversion of getting a new bike. Added to the diversion of never knowing what is happening about my driving license. Occasionally, I check my license situation on the DVLA web site because I don not trust these people to tell me anything as they don't. They just don't. I was never officially told that I had passed the DVLA eyesight test, nor was I officially told that I passed the driving assessment. I got my license sent back and that was all in the envelope - no covering letter, or even officially telling me that I had passed the assessment. This is how these people operate. A snide, untrustworthy, sloppy bunch of cnuts!
