For sale, my monster 1200s. I’ve owned it for 3yrs, it’s easily the best bike I’ve owned. It’ll be accompanied by a Ducati wallet and the manuals/booklets service history, receipts and detail log of maintenance under my ownership. MOT valid until end of Feb 26. V5 in my name. The bike has good early service history and since I have had it (April 22) I have recorded every detail of maintenance and upgrade/change. I am meticulous with cleaning the bike and keeping it well maintained. I’d like to say it’s only been ridden in dry weather but I have been caught out on occasion. I would describe the condition as very good for the age. I cannot think of any significant marks except for one on the tank where a previous owner may have lent on it with a belt buckle. The tank pad partially covers the scratch. Each year of my ownership I have completed a fluid/filter service with Shell Advance oil and new OEM filter. I also strip and clean the bike with ACF50 each winter. The rear tyre was fitted new in May 24 and has seen ~2k miles. The front is worn and will need replacing within a year. I fitted new belts when I purchased it and this winter I measured the valve clearances (all in spec.). Also this winter I replaced all hydraulic fluids. Since owning the bike I have mostly reverted it back toward standard after the previous owners had put their personal stamp on it. Some of the modifications I have made/left on the bike are as follows: Evotech radiator, oil cooler and horizontal head guard Gold DID chain MIVV stubby exhaust (will also include the OEM unit) R&G Tail tidy Shorty levers (will also include the original OEM levers) Ducati Tank Pad Fly screen (not fitted) Optimate 4 tail connected to battery USB (A & C) power connection Datatag You can contact me via pm to arrange a viewing. I believe I have priced it right in terms of market and condition, but reasonable offers will be considered carefully/respectfully. Priced at £7700, no warranty or guarantee implied. I will continue to ride the bike until it sells so the mileage (14k miles) will go up. Pictures to follow… Here they are…
Hi all, just to get this post a little bit of visibility again. Thinking of advertising it again in the spring. Will price it at £7200. It now has Renthal flat bars and aftermarket bar end mirrors. Nearly 16k on the clock.
That's a beauty mate - GLWS. It's brutal out there atm. Sold my heavily upgraded Diavel gen 2 carbon with 14k miles for £7,200 (it was easily worth 8k with AEM titanium reservoirs, AEM carbon keyless fuel flap, Zard exhausts etc etc) - bought a 2017 1200s with 6k miles on the clock for £6,850. It's immaculate as well with Evotech tail tidy and rear peg blanks, Termi exhaust system... It's definitely a buyers market out there. Maybe the better weather will bring more enthusiasm off buyers?
Yep. A lot of bike for little money. I'm in the market for a modern retro myself and have settled on a BMW R9T. But I'm getting seriously tempted by a 990 Superduke I'm watching. Not really a retro but still a corking, analogue jump-on-and-go bike. And you can't give older KTMs away at the moment. This Duke is for nowt. Low miles and absolutely mint for under 4 grand. Future spares supply has killed the market for KTM. Wouldn't bother me as I know 990s inside out and I would build up a spares supply of the stuff I know I'd likely need. Used Ducatis are holding up much better but they're still feeling the heat of the economic climate. Anyone who fancies the above Monster and has the money in their pocket should get it bought.
Thanks for the kind words chaps, appreciate it. Like you say, traditionally Ducati’s hold their value and mine is a good example…but considering the current market I may have to bite the bullet and lower the price again…or just carry on enjoying it!
