Hi. Not really a technical question. But off we go. On the above bike I want to try a better screen for distance work. When I first looked at the fixings that go around the bottom edge of the screen they looked like pop rivet heads, fortunately they are threaded fixings with smooth round alloy heads. Very neat looking, trouble is, I can’t see a way of turning them? There is a very small hole in the centre, but neither torx, or metric / imperial Allen keys will engage and drive the screws. Even using a lens I can’t look down the centre hole and see well enough to determine the type of drive needed. I’m sure they are o/e fittings same as I’ve seen in pictures of same bikes of that year. Any one help on this one please. It is a 2007 bike. Thank you.
Maybe also ask on the older Multistrada forum that has more owners? https://www.multistrada.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=1
They were T7 torx drive. It’s not a common size that appears in most tool kits. You may find that over the years, an Allen key or regular torx bit has been in there and rounded it out.
Yes, but even so, most kits go T6 then T8. The 7 is an electronics size. Most of the screen screws I see have been rounded out with either an Allen key or wrong sized torx bit
