You need to give your head a wobble. American presidents get replaced, Chinese dictators don’t. Americans enact laws to restrict data collection, Chinese enact laws to require it. America only has our best interests at heart when they align with American interests, but China not only doesn’t have our best interests at heart, it is positively antithetical to them. America is far from perfect, it if it’s a toss up between allying with them or one of the other superpowers, it’s not even close.
Maybe have a look at countries invaded by the US since the end of ww2, the number of democratic heads of states directly murdered, and those killed by proxy. The reduction in world stability by ringing both Russia and China with military bases etc etc. Then look at the equivalent history for China, notice anything? One country invaded, zero heads of state murdered, zero military bases around America or Russia. Etc etc. While American presidents get replaced, the power that puts them there stays the same. There is no genuine alternative for Americans. You don’t need to give your head a wobble, It’s already wobbling far too much if the think of America as a protector of democracy.
This isn’t even close to a full list: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...ory-kill-leaders-around-the-world-north-korea The recent events in Venezuela show they are still doing the same. Perhaps the most significant being the removal of Mossaddegh in Iran (he had the cheek to want Iranian oil to make money for Iran not the U.K. or US) leading to over 70 years of regional instability. Or the murder of the incredibly popular Salvador Allende, democrat leader and progressive who again had the ‘crazy idea’ that American corporations shouldn’t be allowed to impoverish the people. Even leaders that align with the US aren’t safe - several South Vietnamese leaders were murdered once their usefulness to the US had passed it’s sell by date. Love to hear how anyone can defend these actions as those of a ‘protector of democracy’. China is FAR from perfect, but the idea that America is so superior on a world stage is delusional.
I don’t care. I’d still rather have the Americans than the Chinese. For one thing, aside from the unpleasantness with the Indians, they didn’t murder millions of their own people or force university professors to dig ditches or end up starving millions to death because they ordered all the sparrows to be eliminated. America also doesn’t have a social credit system or censor the internet. You strike me as a conformist sort who wants the comfort of a big controlling government and is willing to trade freedom for stability and cheaper tat, whereas I’m pretty much the opposite.
You are exactly what you accuse me of it seems, happy to ignore the facts with an ‘I don’t care’ in response to murder of innocent people. Happy to accept anything as long at it sits well with your racial superiority, ‘Americans are good Aryans and therefore decent people’ whereas the Chinese MUST be dodgy. The idea that not liking America is a sign of wanting a controlling government is hilarious - have you seen what ICE are doing at the moment? And why do you think they murdered the politicians above? Control, nothing more, nothing less, but extreme right wing people such as yourself are happy to accept these crimes as long as you personally aren’t affected. Some of us have the intelligence to be able to see that both regimes are dodgy as fuck. And the idea that America doesn’t censor the internet That genuinely cracked me up.
Again. I don’t care. Nor do I care what you think of me. In fact, based on what I know of you, I’d be quite concerned if you approved of my beliefs and values. And I specifically reject your lazy and utter nonsense framing of me as believing in aryan racial superiority (lol). FWIW, judging by the photo you posted the other day (chubby bloke wearing a Schuberth lid and those tinted specs paedos wear, IIRC?) I’m a lot less aryan than you are and I also have mixed race kids. I based my belief about you stanning fot big government on what I have observed about your character and your emotionally incontinent reaction to any criticism of overweening officialdom and the administrative state. Now, get back to your usual obsession with EV charge times and £/kwh/mile or whatever it is you are so fond of listing in punishing detail whenever anyone expresses scepticism about electric cars.
