Help Please.....

  1. Afternoon all. Need some help please! treated myself to some Titanium 50mm Termignonis. Ebay specials... It came with the 45mm to 50mm centre section but because the ends are different it doesn't fit to the standard headers. I have a 2003 748S.
My Question is. can I buy new headers that fit to the exhaust centre section, are these still available?
or have I bought a full system that's missing the correct headers.
Am I looking for more problems and should just sell on and wait to get just tail slip-ons when they come available.
    Many thanks

  2. There are two different midpipes
if i recall correctly the one you have is to fit a bike with a deep sump

  3. Didn’t know the 748 came with two different sumps. I thought that was the 749. Can you still get parts do you know?
Might just sell these if it’s going to be a problem.
    Thanks

  4. I bought a 748SP new from a main dealer. Mistake made from Ducati 50 mm termi's were supplied, doubt the 748 had different sumps? Nerds on here will say otherwise.

  5. 748's dont have different sumps. I believe the one the op has is for a 998

  6. No i dont think the 748 ever had a deep sump, i had a 748BP and a 2002 748R . The 998 S version had a deep sump.

  7. All 748/916/996 had the same sump depth. As did the 998. However the 998S (bar those supplied to USA) had the deep sump as it effectively the previous years 996R race engine.

  8. Seemingly what I need is the early type exhaust headers. That is the 4 section ones rather than the later one section pipes!
Anyone got any in the parts bin?

  9. Does your 748 have the dropped exhaust valve heads?

  10. Sorry you’ve lost me there! But I have sourced some pipes now. Thanks all.

  11. No worries, just that the heads on some 748 have a lowered exhaust valve setup that may require different manifold lengths? which may have accounted for the difference but, if you're sorted then all good. :upyeah:

  12. All sorted thanks!
