Wsb Round 1 - Philip Island (spoilers)

  1. New season starts in six hours time. Any predictions for the opening round barring the blatantly obvious?

Few quid e/w on S Lowes?
The pair of them usually go quite well round there if they don’t fall off.
    Bassani too.

Hopefully not a complete Ducati shut out to start the season.

  2. I wouldn’t bet against your last sentence …..

  3. Didn’t realise Jake crashed/high sided on his first flying lap! Bet he feels a bit daft and regretful.

In leaderboard news I see ALo and SLo are now LoA and LoS, I wasn’t confused honestly : unamused:

  4. Poor old Sam has gone from SLo(w) to Los(s), as you say speed is there, just need to stay on, they're always good to watch though while upright.

  5. Just caught up on the 2 sessions. Have to say, many of the bikes looked nervous and the track appears quite bumpy. NB not seconds ahead as feared. Andy

  6. Shame about TBA crashing in supersport super pole we had a trumpet 1-2 lock out at one point.

  7. Josh Whatley going well on the v2 as well.

  8. @Red899, no Tommy Bridewell ? Andy

  9. Portimao onwards.

  10. Enjoyed race one.
Wish bimota would bin that monstrosity of an exhaust off, it completely ruins what would be by far the best looking bike on the grid.
Great rides from MO and IL.

  11. I thought race 1 was pretty dull. NB miles up the road etc.
Supersport better. That ZX Moto looked fast (straight line). Why are Ducati running the old V2? Is the new (well, a year old now) bike not up to the job?

  12. Not much point looking at NB11 this year is there but there were some decent battles behind.

  13. If anyone’s wondering where I get my *ahem slight lunacy from I’ve just spoken to my dad who said and I kid you not…

“I watched supersport superpole and it didn’t seem like much of a race”

He still gets a vote at the next GE bless him.

  14. Just watched the ssp race. Masia is a class act and shouldn’t be anywhere near this level of championship (no disrespect to the others). Has he (or more importantly his agent) pissed on someone’s chips?

Let’s not forget he beat everyone’s “he’s the next 93” (David Alonso) to the moto 3 championship and by some distance only a couple of years ago.

  15. How he won it was a little controversial, somewhat unsportsmanlike tactics. I for one am glad he played stupid games and got stupid prizes. Can't deny he's talented but so is Iannone ;)

  16. Everyone makes mistakes especially at a very young age but he’s still a world champion. Imagine what TBA has cost his team this weekend and it’s not even Sunday yet.

  17. Will the new V2 ever be raced ?
All the WSSP & BSB supersport are using the old bike again this year?
