If I was the younger marquez brother right now and they hired Acosta i would be mightily pissed taking results and experience on the bike into account.
On the flip side I wouldn't want to be sharing a garage with big brother as everything is just about him. As long as I had the factory bike as promised I would happily stay in the family team I was in.
Alex might be off to KTM, almost a similar move as Luca Marini, the chance to get a factory ride away from the shadow of the older brother
Not trying to say AM is a better choice because its fine margins. Both have 2 world championships marquez has three years experience on the bike though (and a handful of wins) and i would imagine comes with significantly lower wage demands than PA. Dont rock the boat and all that? (not that rocking boats seems to have bothered ducati too much in recent history)
Yeah it is a wee bit fine, but I think the right choice is Acosta, he's shown some real guts & sheer talent on an inferior machine & I for one would love to see that on the best bike!
So much talent around atm, just not enough Ducati and Aprilia ! Really hope that this year has real close racing, with not too much of an eye on the all new machines just around the corner. Poor Fabio, or not so poor (supposed to be a massive pay package..) I do wonder if he will regret the ‘lost years’ he has had with Yamaha.. Bez for the title ?
There’s an argument to be had that they’ve spaffed an awful lot of money up the wall. Can’t imagine he’s told them anything additional to the likes of what miller and rins have reported for seemingly no additional gains to the bike’s development or improvement…
There’s going to be a lot of hedging of bets when it comes to contracts over the next few week and months id wager. Who’s to say Honda are going to provide any more of a competitive bike with an 850 than the thou? Pedro already knows what the KTM 850 is capable of but not the Ducati etc..
