Hey everyone, As per the title, initial fuel pump failure (2 yrs ago), replaced with a Kemso, new filter, new mesh, new relay, new spark plugs etc. New fuel, everything looks ok. Pump primes and the bike literally starts on a 6 pence. Can rev it without choking it, let it back to idle and it dies. every single time. My thoughts are that the Kemso pump is starving the fuel rail - but then it revs fine - so not sure how valid that is. My options are - another pump - take it to local bike shop - leave it over another summer... Im not a fan of either of the 3 options tbh. Prior to the initial fuel pump fail, the bike was almost perfect, no issues at all. The good news is I am now an expert at 749 fuel pump removal and refitting. What a PITA that is. Any advice welcomed from those that may have had similar issues. Ive got to get this thing back up and runnin' this year..!! Thanks!
Doesn’t sound like it’s being starved if it’s revving ok. Have you tried riding it so you put the fuel system under load? That will confirm any starvation issues. Might be just as simple as setting the injection up. TPS reset, balance and mixture.
As @nelly says, I would be looking at the TPS, throttle balance and CO settings. How clean are the air filters? Are you using Iridium spark plugs?
I appreciate you changed them but what do they look like? Always a good idea to double check the basics, connections, plugs etc. Before diving down a rabbit warren. Did you let it warm up before revving it?
Theyre fine, yeh everything up to temp, like you say - could be a deep rabbit hole but if anyone has had something distinctly similar would be a help...
