Best thing you can do is go to a tyre shop after you've used this repair and get them to drill it out and replace with a mushroom plug (from the inside out) as this is pretty much as good as new. That said, I've kept the bungs in for the life of a tyre.

Just whatever you do, don't use foam!

One thing every puncture repair kit omits is a pair of pliers, or a leatherman or something similar, to assist in removal of whatever caused the puncture should it still be embedded in the tyre.

Once you get the puncture repair kit, pack the Leatherman multi tool too.
