That was a regular thing when I lived in Holmfirth. Tyres were the biggest single expense in keeping the company cars on the road. Patching up the potholes was a complete waste of time and money as no sooner had they been filled in they’d been churned up again with the traffic. The only long term solution is to re-do the roads completely.
Of its time, the double engine format was quite common. Mid 1970’s when I was running street legal, using 2 Triumph engines was a favourite. I think the Honda IL4 was probably a bit later. Into the late 1980’s, I’m sure I remember a bike using 4 engines. Andy
The "Dragster" Exception Top Fuel dragsters do 0–500 km/h in under 4 seconds. How? Chemical Grip: They use "Top Tier" sticky rubber that is basically glue. Downforce: The exhaust headers are angled up to push the car into the ground with tons of force. Tire Deformation: The tires grow in diameter, changing the "final drive" ratio mid-run.
The "AntiChrist" is a Honda double four built by the late Boris “Bob” Guynes for the salt flats. Sporting a pair of modified CB750 inline fours linked together with their primary drives. The bike features a pair of carbs per cylinder bank instead of the factory four. It has a dry sump oil system with a catch can and eight into four exhaust set up. The fuel tank is from an old CB450.
That’s really interesting. I’d noticed initial the sluggishness of rockets but had always assumed it was a kind of optical illusion due to the size of everything and because launches are usually filmed from a long way away.
