Although the weather is crap, enjoying my time in Plymouth. Yesterday, I saw "To Kill a Mockingbird' for the third time in three years - London, Bath and now Plymouth have all been done! Making the decision to come to Plymouth a day or two before the ferry is due to leave for Spain is certainly correct. You just cannot trust the railways in the UK. Weather is poor today and I am doing nuffink today. Although it could brighten up for a walk later. We'll see. . . . Back here in Three or four weeks for Spain 1.
GT motorcycles has a nice collection of 80s & 90s race bikes. Upstairs in the Honda building, worth a look if at all loose end.
Walked into the Drake centre and visited shops. Could be ten years since I been in a shopping centre by choice. First the O2 shop to check our the iPhone Air. In the O2 shop they nail down the phones so that you cannot even pick one up in your hand. I don't think "thieving bastid" was really called for, so I went to the Apple store. I think that's what I will get. It's all eSIM, with no physical SIM. It's insanely light and thin, with a very clear screen. Then I went in a travel agent - mainly to sit down, but also to look into where I can go next year, avoiding airports. I can cruise with Viking, I think that it was, from Royal Portbury dock, which I'd closer to me than Bristol Airport. So that's a plan. iPhone Air and a cruise! My current phone is pissing me right off. If you turn off WiFi, you can connect to nothing, but if you turn Wi-Fi on, then it just connects to some random Wi-Fi, that Will be locked as it's for staff, of the phone of the person standing next to you. So,in effect, if I leave my house, or this hotel, I am screwed. Apple phones can't be so shite, surely Shirley?
Do you have a plan with data? If so your settings are wrong. Go to the store of the company who you pay for airtime and they will resolve this for you in seconds. If your plan does not include data, change it to a plan that does. Apple 'phones are good at most things, though the battery life could be better.
Judging from the thread you had about trying to use an iPad I am genuinely looking forward to what happens when you get your iPhone
