Plymouth And Spain

  1. Although the weather is crap, enjoying my time in Plymouth. Yesterday, I saw "To Kill a Mockingbird' for the third time in three years - London, Bath and now Plymouth have all been done!
Making the decision to come to Plymouth a day or two before the ferry is due to leave for Spain is certainly correct. You just cannot trust the railways in the UK.

Weather is poor today and I am doing nuffink today. Although it could brighten up for a walk later. We'll see. . . .

Back here in Three or four weeks for Spain 1.

  2. GT motorcycles has a nice collection of 80s & 90s race bikes. Upstairs in the Honda building, worth a look if at all loose end.

  3. In the Promenade Coffee and Tea Bar on The Hoe in Plymouth. Windy and cold but I just had to go out.

  4. Walked into the Drake centre and visited shops. Could be ten years since I been in a shopping centre by choice. First the O2 shop to check our the iPhone Air. In the O2 shop they nail down the phones so that you cannot even pick one up in your hand. I don't think "thieving bastid" was really called for, so I went to the Apple store. I think that's what I will get. It's all eSIM, with no physical SIM. It's insanely light and thin, with a very clear screen.

Then I went in a travel agent - mainly to sit down, but also to look into where I can go next year, avoiding airports. I can cruise with Viking, I think that it was, from Royal Portbury dock, which I'd closer to me than Bristol Airport. So that's a plan. iPhone Air and a cruise!

My current phone is pissing me right off. If you turn off WiFi, you can connect to nothing, but if you turn Wi-Fi on, then it just connects to some random Wi-Fi, that Will be locked as it's for staff, of the phone of the person standing next to you. So,in effect, if I leave my house, or this hotel, I am screwed. Apple phones can't be so shite, surely Shirley?

  5. Do you have a plan with data? If so your settings are wrong. Go to the store of the company who you pay for airtime and they will resolve this for you in seconds.

If your plan does not include data, change it to a plan that does.

Apple 'phones are good at most things, though the battery life could be better.

  6. Judging from the thread you had about trying to use an iPad I am genuinely looking forward to what happens when you get your iPhone :joy:

  7. The iPhone Air only uses eSims that will be new to me. The decision will be whether to keep my number on the Android phone as I have banking apps and other stuff that relies upon my phone number to consider. I suppose I will start out with another number on the eSIM and then if an iPhone doesn't cause me to get mad with it and sling it, then I can look into getting another eSIM with my number on it.

Nothing wrong with trying new shit to keep my damaged brain keeping up!

  8. NO!

    Go For It!

I have the banking shit on this tablet so it won't be any big hurry to get banking on the phone. More of a hurry is to sort out railway tickets on the phone as I do use the GWR app frequently, but I'll have to get with the Apple version of the GWR app.
Amazon do the iPhone cheaper than Apple, which is crazy, but not my problem. I'll buy from Amazon once I can get an answer to keeping my number on an eSIM.

  10. This affy, I have been looking into cruises from RoyPortbury Dock. The cruise lines all call it Bristol, but it is not and when I worked in Easton-in-Gordano, the dock was on my lunchtime running route. Christ! I would of been mega fit! Now, I couldn't even walk my old route!

But it's still just a taxi ride away. I fink that in 2027 or 2028, I will cruise somewhere.

Iknow that France and Spain can be done from there, although if the train option from Santander or Bilbao, maybe Plymouth will remain my best option.

And the Merlot hasn't helped my decision making ability!

  11. But it hasn't affected your spelling so why worry!
