  1. Great news for you and enjoy your new bike. I went for the M1000xr for a change , bonkers as well , not got all the bells and whistles as the V4 but a mad engine and its good on tyres ( well so far lol) Happy new bike and ride safe.

  2. I thought you've been a bit quiet on here lately!

  3. Well , I had bought a 25 plate V4 s again , got lent an M1000r for a few days as my mate was away . Loved it , complete change from the V4 , but a bit to cramped . So on that engine alone decided the XR was better . I was right .
Not as pampered as the V4 but very engaging as a Time Machine lol .

  4. I was also concerned about the dry clutch longevity, especially given the amount of mileage I seem to do, so my MY26 RS will be converted to a wet clutch before too long, happy to forgo the iconic rattle :(

  5. I would love to know how this goes. I was looking at this myself, looks perfectly doable.

  6. and yet a dry clutch is a £3k option for bikes with standard wet clutch. crazy :D

  9. I would worry about your tyres as well , 3k , you need to factor in a tyre change

  10. Yep. I am off to Wales for a few days, then off to the Czech WSB in Most. That’s about another 3,000 miles so need to check the clutch and tyres when I get back and get ready for WDW.

I come from the XR world an do love the MXR, but this Gen2.5 model makes me feel a little wedged in (no room for my tummy :D).

  11. This, if my tour breaches ~2k one way (starting with fresh rubber and dependant on if motorway running or not), I'm shopping for a garage at the mid point ahead of time.

  12. Motorway? What that?

We’re talking about the RS here, motorways do not exist when you own an RS.

  14. Fresh rubber always , got a tyre change arranged in Andorra at 1000 miles so should be good on the Rosso 4 as used the the T33 Bridgestones on the last V4 which were no good at similar mileage and ruined the trip . Expect the M Xr will better as an in line 4 so less deceleration stress , well hope so . Done 1000 on the current Rossi 4 , but cold and wet roads and not pushing so judging on the wear so far , for the record …..
