This is all interesting, an open discussion about a new phenomena in the UK car market. But ff someone posts about car brand "A", then as part of that discussion someone is bound to say - what about car brand "B" or car brand "C", and so on. That is to be expected. The sales numbers for Jaecoo cars speak for themselves - the market in action - you pay your money, you make your choice. People are not being forced into buying them. I don't think there is any con-job going on, like there was with VW and other diesels with the "cheating" of emissions. But they still look like electric shavers...

Looking at the reliability record of recent Land Rover/Range Rover, I would take any other car..esp if used! Even a
some chinese cars are excellently engineered and others are not so good but one major problem is poor after sales and a really dire source of Spare parts for many chinese cars , insurers and finance companies are raising rates on chinese cars due to the problem of parts . customers complain about very long delays for repairs .
Yes, similarly... spare parts for some Chinese motorcycles are impossible to source / or are VERY expensive!
Toyota still make that style basic landcruiser for souths America and Africa they can be bought new for £29k , but it cant be sold in EU , USA etc we only get the modern luxury boat Landcruiser that is £60k ... my wife prefers ISUZUs I bought her a new MUX in 2013 and she has now done 320,000k miles , no faults at all , before that she had an isuzu TFR pickup and she put 590k miles on it in 18 years she sold it to a farmer in Thailand and its still running now its 36 years old with 650k miles LOL
