Replacement Alternator Nuts, Profile With Integrated Washer

  1. Q.1. Is this OK to fit on a 1992 900 ss motor , an alternator nut that came in a recent order, which has with a integrated washer (flanged nut): part number 74810131A
    - For a parts diag/ picture of the nut See here https://www.ghmparts.com/motorcycle-parts/ducati/900-ss/1992/crankshaft . Its is supposed to go over a spring washer 79950012A
    - The old alternator nut fitted on my motor p/n 74810181A (a thinner nut without flange?), is N/A; It was
fitted over a separate Beleville (spring) washer.
    - I'm worried this new replacement nut if fitted with the original Beleville spring washer will foul the alternator casing beating/housing. Torquing it down and offering up the cover, there is no gap between the nut and the housing face, it protudes into the bearing recess by about 1mm.
    - the spring washer thickness I have is 3.75mm thick (uncompressed).

  2. OR, to put it simply, did the washer p/n 79950012A also change, to go with the new flanged nut?

I think I have to use a spring washer, more important than loctite.
