Nice. Do they just stretch over the original seat or do you need to get an upholsterer to fit them? I believe it’s more than just a cover too, they’re slightly padded, is that correct?
I had to take it to an upholsterer. I did consider doing it myself as I do have a h/d stapler for my compressor but I thought it best to get a pro to do it as it was for ma baby. In saying that...I reckon I could have done it myself and saved the £95 the old bugger charged me as I think the job he did is no better than the job I could have done; but then that is easy to say in retrospect. He did go to great lengths to say that he had used s/s staples to stop rusting so maybe they're 0.50p a pop! So I got the cover for £230 (ish) + £95 to fit. Pricey. I was quoted c£400 for a bespoke cover from local bike specialist so If I was going to do it again I might go down that route for the sake of £70 to get a proper, unique hand crafted unit. However it is quite pretty and feel I made the correct colour choice (after much cogitation) of the 3 they have available. And yes, there is a slight padding to it but not so as you'd notice. Now all I have to do is to wait till it warms up and stops F**KIN' raining to take it for a wee test.
Not a problem Komrad, I wear special Tenna man pants for that. Pish to my hearts content and not a drop spilled. Perfect for the long distance trip to the shops.
The bag is a bog standard Oxford tail pack scored off Fleabay for 40 notes; I think they are about £100 new. It is attached by integral bungees to an aftermarket CNC, anodised plate ali that cost about £50. Good for rain gear, spare gloves, spare jumper, puncture repair kit, mini compressor, tool kit, mini first aid kit, bungees, beany hat, shades, disc lock, water and a few odznsodz. Everything needed for a long day out. And with room to spare for snacks, souvenirs etc It is a fantastic piece of kit. Tough, waterproof, adaptable, expandable and looks the part; even comes with a rain cover. I think Oxford are underrated, they put out some good stuff. If you want I can take some close ups and post them if you are interested in the setup.
